Contract and Permission
Once childcare is agreed I provide a contract which covers all the arrangements between parents and myself.
For the safety and security of the children I ask parents for permission for certain activities and circumstances (e.g. to take and use photographs).
Policies and Procedures
I consider policies and procedures to be part of good childcare practice and so I continue to develop my knowledge and practice through education and training.
Examples of current policies are; ‘Equal Opportunities’, ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ and ‘Healthy Eating’.
I also work to the requirements in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (DfE, 2014)
Pets
I believe that pets can have a valuable part to play in children’s social and emotional development.
Therefore, children may have supervised contact with our pet dog with parental permission.
